
Can you tell us about your background and experience in the moving and relocations industry?
I have 22 years’ experience in the field of logistics, 14 of which I have been working in the relocation and world mobility industry.
What led you to join Crown Relocations and take on the role of heading the Nairobi office?
I was in charge of the logistics business within India and in 2014 the opportunity to handle the East African business for Crown Relocations arose. I was appointed to manage the Crown Relocations branches in two vibrant countries (Kenya & Tanzania). I now manage the West African business for Crown Relocations in Nigeria and Ghana and now we are able to deliver services in 13 countries in Africa.
Could you describe the services and solutions that Crown Relocations offers to its clients in Nairobi?
We have 2 types of clients in Kenya (private & corporates) For private clients we offer International relocations in and out of Kenya, storage of goods in Kenya or overseas as per the client’s needs, We offer corporates customised solutions for their expat employees and services include international relocations of their household goods by land, sea & air. Mobility solutions for their emigration needs, day to day transportation needs, home search, school search and settling in services.
How does Crown Relocations ensure a smooth and seamless moving experience for individuals and businesses relocating internationally?
Having been in business for over 60 years, we understand the challenges that are encountered while relocating internationally. We have standard operating procedures amongst our global network and we assign each client with a single point of contact who keeps the clients updated about their shipment and services from time to time. We also provide our client with online access, whereby they can monitor the service progress and also communicate with the team from time to time.
What sets Crown Relocations apart from other moving and relocations companies in terms of service quality and customer satisfaction?
We have a transparent system, global presence, trained manpower and always aim to make things simple for our clients.
What challenges do you typically encounter when facilitating international moves, and how do you overcome them?
As we move people and their belongings internationally, we face various challenges when it comes to dealing with government officials, shipping lines and airlines, however with our experience we foresee such challenges and work proactively to ensure the bottlenecks are resolved and keep the clients updated of such things to avoid unpleasant surprises.
How do you stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the moving and relocations industry?
With our global presence and vast network of service partners we have access to best practices around the world and share them with our team via intranet so they can communicate efficiently with our clients.
In your opinion, what are some of the key factors individuals and businesses should consider when choosing a moving and relocations company?
They should look at the experience of the company, geographical spread, and the response of their staff on the queries.
