Bacta meets with vice-chair of APPG on Tourism and Hospitality

Flamingo Amusements on Hastings seafront hosted their local MP Sally-Ann Hart, the vice-chair of the APPG on Tourism and Hospitality, to celebrate amusement machine industry body bacta’s and Admiral’s donation to charity partner, Rays of Sunshine.

Shaun Hooper, Regional Operations Director at Admiral (for Flamingo and Admiral), presented the £10,000 cheque at the site along with bacta CEO John White.

Donations were  raised through the bacta charitable trust’s Tickets2Wishes scheme at Admiral seaside arcades and handed with matched funding from Admiral to the bacta Charitable Trust (BCT) for Rays of Sunshine.

The donation will be used to brighten the lives of seriously ill children across the country through granting wishes and providing support in hospitals.

The amusement machine industry has raised more than £500,000 for Rays of Sunshine through bacta over the past decade.

Shaun Hooper, Regional Operations Director at Admiral (for Flamingo and Admiral) said: “We are delighted to have Sally-Ann’s support for this fantastic initiative, which is all about giving back and making a difference to our local communities. As bacta members we were proud to match the charitable trust’s donation, and we know the money will be going to a great cause improving the lives of children across the country.”

Sally-Ann Hart MP said: “It was fantastic to support this wonderful local initiative. As the MP for Hastings and Rye, I know how vital the seaside and tourist economy is for my local community, and seeing businesses giving back is testament to the role that business has to play as a force for good.”

John White, CEO at bacta said: “We are immensely proud of bacta’s longstanding commitment to giving back to the community, with this being the latest fantastic cause supported by our charitable trust and our partners in Rays of Sunshine. As our long term charitable partners, we’re immensely proud of the work of our members in helping to give back to their communities and are very grateful to Admiral for their efforts and generosity in Hastings.”
