Creative production house Skyhook Games is adding outdoor battery-powered equipment specialist EGO Power Plus to its roster of specialist partners for Lawn Mowing Simulator, the only simulator that allows players to ride authentic, real-world licensed lawn mowers from prestigious manufacturers.
A global technology leader for its high-performance cordless outdoor power equipment, EGO Power Plus designs and manufactures battery-powered outdoor power equipment from ride-on mowers to chainsaws and leaf blowers. An advocate against the harmful consequences of using petrol-powered tools, it has revolutionised battery technology to outperform petrol with its unique patented 56V ARC lithium batteries which hold the industry’s highest capacity in a hand-held battery.
Now, thanks to this latest partnership, gamers can get their hands, virtually, on the latest EGO products and add them to their roster of mowers and line trimmers. Moreover, it also brings the first battery-operated zero-turn ride-on mower to the game, allowing players to complete sustainability-led contracts to the game, this can only be done by using battery-powered equipment to work in environments where fumes and excessive noise are to be kept to a minimum.
Rick Payne, Lead Designer at Skyhook Games comments, “Skyhook Games is thrilled to be partnered with EGO Power Plus and bring their amazing products to Lawn Mowing Simulator. Working with the team at EGO has been a pleasure, giving us incredible access to their Z6 and ST1400E-ST string trimmer to bring the most accurate representation we can to the game”.
Rated PEGI 3, Lawn Mowing Simulator is suitable for all ages and enables users to build their very own lawn care business from the ground up, learning the trade as they progress. Players can choose from an extensive range of mowers, each with their own challenges and upgrades to unlock, all recreated from real-life outdoor equipment brands.
Set in the beautiful British Countryside, players begin with a handful of tools and small contract jobs, gradually working their way up to unlock more equipment as well as much larger projects such as picturesque gardens and vast castle grounds. Mowing skills can also be improved in Free Mow mode and tested out on a variety of lawn mowing machines in Challenge mode.
Emma Gayler, Marketing Manager for EGO (EMEA) says, “We are thrilled to be joining Lawn Mowing Simulator and are especially excited to see our brand new Z6, the world’s first battery-platform compatible zero-turn ride-on mower, join the gaming world. Having seen the success of the game and its popularity on sites such as Twitch, we can’t wait to see what players make of our battery-powered outdoor equipment products.
“As part of our Challenge 2025 mission to educate on the benefits of battery power compared to petrol, both for the environment and the health of outdoor equipment users, it was important to us that this be represented in the game. Players can therefore expect eco-friendly contracts, quiet aspects, and customers who only want eco-friendly tools used on their gardens. Elements that not only represent Challenge 2025, but also the growing number of people who are becoming more and more conscious of their environmental impact.”
EGO on Lawn Mowing Simulator is now available on Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S and will be available on PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5 at a later date.
