Dimoso Goes North: Expert communications agency launches new Edinburgh office and announces first-ever Scottish Games Week as inaugural client

Communications wizards, Dimoso, today reveals its brand new Scottish branch hosting its team of PR and marketing experts north of the border. Understanding the opportunities and potential that Scotland has to offer in gaming and tech, Dimoso is capitalising on a sector which has seen unprecedented growth of 26% in 2022 (TIGA) by investing in an Edinburgh office. Not only that, the new team has secured its premiere client, Scottish Games Week, an event that will take place from the 24th-28th of October across Scotland.

Scotland has a wealth of gaming talent, with 147 active games development companies in 2022 (Scottish Games Network) including Rockstar North, Blazing Griffin and 4J Studios who have established themselves as key figures in the global gaming sphere. More recently Edinburgh, where Dimoso is planting its flag, has seen major investment in studios such as Build A Rocket Boy and Ant Workshop. Codebase, the capital’s growing hub for tech and gaming companies alike, has recently received a £42 million investment from the Scottish Government, to establish a national network of ‘tech scalers’ as part of the programme to grow a more consistently successful tech ecosystem – in which games will play a major role.

Recognising the booming Scottish games and tech industries, Dimoso has made a key step in its journey by opening a brand new office in Edinburgh. Dimoso, a creative and innovative all-service communications agency, was founded by leading industry figure Jacki Vause in 2011. Determined and driven to deliver impeccable results for its clients, the firm has worked with an impressive array of games industry powerhouses such as Rovio, Disney and Warner Brothers.

The Scotland office will be led by Dimoso’s Scotland Manager and Account Director, Lisa Bennett. Lisa is a seasoned PR professional with nine years of experience in the field, leading high-profile accounts across the worlds of gaming, tech, entertainment, tourism and hospitality.

Jacki Vause, CEO and Founder of Dimoso said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for the games industry in Scotland. It’s a country that has an incredibly rich video games history, with the likes of DMA Design and Rockstar, but now is the time it is truly levelling up. We’re thrilled to be opening an office in Edinburgh, and to have Scottish Games Week on board as the perfect first client! We look forward to supporting Scottish game developers to enhance and grow their profile for the whole world to see.”

Taking place this autumn, Scottish Games Week will showcase the talent and value of the games industry in Scotland, making Dimoso the perfect partner. With events across Scotland in hubs like Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh, to the Highlands and the Scottish Borders. Each event is set to tackle a different aspect of the Scottish games ecosystem, with the key goal being to shed light on promoting games as Scotland’s secret weapon – a vibrant, thriving and viable addition to the country’s rapidly evolving tech sector. A vision that is shared by the team at Dimoso.

Brian Baglow, founder of the Scottish Games Network and the figurehead behind Scottish Games Week said: “We’re thrilled to have a team as dedicated, knowledgeable and creative as those at Dimoso to partner with us on the first-ever Scottish Games Week. The team’s passion for games and enthusiasm for the event really shines through. We know that having them on board is going to take SGW to the next level. The fact that Dimoso is establishing itself in Scotland shows that the industry is at a point of real change and is something they are truly passionate about. I can’t wait to see what comes next.”
