Intralot has recently signed an extension to its partnership on gaming monitoring with New Zealand’s Department of Internal Affairs (DIA).

Brokered by the New Zealand subsidiary of Intralot, the newly signed three-year extension agreement will run from 2022 up till 2025, and it comes with the option of an extra year.

Intralot will now continue to offer its Electronic Monitoring Services (EMS) for accounting, auditing, reporting, and secure management of New Zealand’s Class 4 gaming venues.

Electronic Monitoring Services EMS will enable its users to track and monitor gaming machines’ operations in clubs and pubs, which Intralot claims would help to ensure the integrity of games and accurate financial reporting.

According to the Interlot group chief, Chris Dimitriadis, The extension of the partnership between Interlot and New Zealand’s Department of Internal Affairs is an endorsement of the successful cooperation between both parties in implementing a topnotch operating service performance with the aid of EMS.

Chris added that Intralot’s world-class solution is designed according to the Gaming Association’s standards, and it serves the most demanding game regulatory environments. Dimitriadis also confirmed that the firm is committed to continuing to throw its weight behind the DIA on establishing a responsible gaming environment for the community of local players who join casino sites based in New Zealand and neighboring territories.

The agreement between both parties comes after Intralot also signed a new extension to its partnership with Nederlandse Loterij in July. Intralot will now be able to offer a sports betting platform to the Netherlands’ state lottery provider.

Other Reports by Intralot

Intralot also reported last month that it experienced a  55.5% year-on-year decline in its revenue for the first six months of 2020, pointing out that its B2B and B2C operations were affected by current struggles in Bulgaria and Turkey.

Revenue for Interlot in the six months to the 30th of June fell to a low €168.2m (£150.6m/$199.2m). Over this time frame, revenue from Intralot’s licensed operations (B2C) division also collapsed, taking a 74.9% nosedive to €57.7m.

This was mostly down to the upheaval in Bulgaria, which saw Eurofootball’s operations shut down after the suspension of its license in February. The Bulgarian shut-down cut revenue for the division by a total of €140.3m, while the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) disrupted Malta, leading to a revenue hit of €17.6m, and a revenue decline of €14.0m from Brazil and Argentina.

For government contracts division and B2B, revenue from management contracts was recorded to have plummeted 73.2% to €11.8m. Once again, this highlights the ongoing impact of the April 2019’s loss of the Turkish sports betting contract and a decline in income from Bilyoner, a significant distributor of sports betting games where Intralot possesses a 50.1% stake.

Intralot stated that it had noticed Covid-19 restrictions being lifted in various markets much earlier than expected. That means the top-line impact of the Covid-19 pandemic had been a lot lower than expected.

However, performance in South American and Australian jurisdictions had been affected as the company expected.

The decline was a lot less apparent in the other B2B division, technology, and support services. These saw revenue drop just 5.5% to €98.8m, making it the largest contributor to group revenue by far. This included a higher US contribution, thanks to the new lottery contract of Intralot in Illinois, and one-off boosts from recent collaborations with the Ohio lottery and the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.

In a comment, Chris Dimitriadis stated that during the one and a half quarter of 2020, the company has navigated through the novel  COVID-19 pandemic coupled with the effect of discontinued operations in  Turkey and Bulgaria. As a result of this, Intarlot has revisited its strategy, done the needful to accelerate its execution, reorganized the group, and prioritized its customers and people. He added that Intralot addressed its financials with prudence, diversified its portfolio even further, ensured continuity in service provision, and identified ways to unlock the hidden potential of its digital technology.

All of these come after the above analysis of the company’s finances in the first six months of 2020. It is safe to say that Intralot’s new partnership extension of its gaming monitoring contract with New Zealand’s Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) is excellent news for the company as they try to recover from the effects of Covid-19 in the remaining months of 2020 and beyond.
