What exactly is the “Blockchain for Europe” association?
Blockchain for Europe represents international blockchain industry players at the European Union – level. They contribute to the regulatory debate by supporting European decision makers in their goal to make Blockchain technology a success. Blockchain for Europe closely collaborates with national, regional and global players – both at policy as well as industry level – to support the promotion of and education about blockchain technology.
As such, Blockchain for Europe is a major European association, which fights for regulations to be balanced in the industry. It was created by four major blockchain companies – NEM, Ripple, Emurgo, and fetch.ai. They promote understanding and regulations that will assist blockchain in becoming more widespread and usable by people. They also host seminars and summits.
Welcome Binance!
Binance is a world class blockchain company composed of the Binance cryptocurrency exchange. Binance hosts a list of cryptocurrency related functions, such as: Binance info, Binance labs, Binance launchpad, amongst various others.
In more understandable language, Binance is a cryptocurrency exchange that gives the opportunity to trade using various cryptocurrencies on their platform. As of January 2018, in terms of trading volume Binance is considered the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world
Binance joins “Blockchain for Europe”
This could be considered as a very big leap of quality for the “Blockchain for Europe” association. The largest cryptocurrency exchange joined them, this is huge. Teana Baker-Taylor, U.K. Director at Binance has been appointed as a board member for the organization alongside Fetch.ai, Block.one, Ripple, and Blockseed Ventures. Together they are going to shape the future of blockchain related technologies and assist policy makers in Europe to make correct decisions regarding the subject.
“Welcoming Binance to the Blockchain For Europe family is another great step in our mission highlighting the opportunities blockchain technology offers to Europe. We are looking forward to incorporating the expertise and experience this global leader in blockchain brings to the table. In this process we remain committed to help ensure an innovation and business-friendly regulatory framework that fully fosters the benefits this new technology offers to European companies and citizens” said Robert Kopitsch, Blockchain for Europe Secretary General.
Let’s not forget!
All this hype is good and amazing, but let’s not allow giants to outshine other cryptocurrency exchanges that have very good standing. There are various smaller providers that are growing rapidly in the local European markets already. For example this certified cryptocurrency exchange has been awarded the ISO Information Security accreditation, which is considered a great feat amongst cryptocurrency exchanges. And without the hard work of these organizations, the mission of “Blockchain for Europe” would become meaningless, since those companies work hard to create a global market of cryptocurrency exchange.
The fact that Binance joined the “Blockchain for Europe” organization implies that there will be a lot of good news in the field – good news both for users, and other smaller providers both across Europe and the world!
