Denice Town joins the company’s executive team

SEATTLE–(BUSINESS WIRE)–PEMCO Mutual Insurance is pleased to announce that Denice Town has joined its executive team in the newly created position of corporate governance officer, following her more than 40 years of service to the Seattle-based insurer.

Town joined PEMCO in 1978 and has held several positions over her tenure, most recently serving as the company’s corporate secretary, where she worked with senior managers, the executive team and PEMCO’s board of directors to not only manage key corporate records, but to help guide the company in virtually all aspects of corporate governance.

Her new role on the executive team will allow her to continue overseeing corporate governance while also leading well-coordinated communication between PEMCO’s leadership and its board of directors, as they partner to achieve the company’s mission, vision and strategic objectives.

“Denice’s commitment and deep knowledge of corporate governance has always set her apart,” said Stan McNaughton, CEO of PEMCO Insurance. “As Denice enters a new chapter of her time with PEMCO, I’m excited to see how she continues to showcase her leadership skills and her wealth of institutional knowledge. We’re so thankful for the many key contributions she’s offered to PEMCO throughout her years with us. We look forward to seeing her continued dedication to the role and advancing our governance practices.”

Town is consistently recognized for her work ethic and excellence in her field. During her time at PEMCO, Town has achieved many accomplishments, and in 2011, when the state of Washington debuted a new paralegal certification program, she became one of the state’s first certified paralegals.

Though she’s one of PEMCO’s longest-tenured employees, according to Town, she didn’t always intend on dedicating her career to one organization. As a testament to PEMCO’s people-focused culture, she’s continually found growth opportunities within the company, culminating with her most recent promotion to the executive team.

Outside of PEMCO, Town enjoys giving back to her community and currently serves on the board of directors for the Providence Hospice of Seattle Foundation, and overseeing a charitable foundation she founded with her husband, Patrick.
