Health Tech Innovator Brings Expertise From Supporting Essential Businesses During Pandemic to Small and Large Businesses As Economy Reopens

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Carbon Health, the technology-enabled healthcare provider designed from the ground up to put patient-care first, introduces ‘COVID Ready,’ a first of its kind program that utilizes a mobile-first platform and allows businesses to oversee a safe return to the workplace. The program is founded on the COVID-19 clinical protocols practiced in the company’s clinics and at the essential businesses it supports. Built on this experience, Carbon Health expanded on these protocols to develop a program enabling small and large businesses to operate safely as the economy reopens.

“We are taking our PMC (Prevention Monitoring Containment) protocol and tools that have proven to minimize risk at our own clinics and our essential business partners during this pandemic, and designed a program that businesses can easily access as they begin to reopen,” said Eren Bali, Co-founder and CEO of Carbon Health. “Keeping businesses safe during this time requires more than fragmented testing efforts. Our comprehensive strategy involves not only testing, but ongoing prevention and monitoring initiatives to continue to contain and curtail the virus.”

As a healthcare provider offering COVID-19 assessment and testing since the onset of the pandemic, Carbon Health has been at the forefront of this crisis and tested more than 25,000 Californians and nearly 35% of San Franciscans who have been tested. Its partnership with the County of Los Angeles and the City and County of San Francisco to expand testing across its communities, and work supporting frontline workers at Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, one of the largest skilled nursing facilities in the country, are at the foundation of the ‘COVID Ready’ program.

Carbon Health’s ‘COVID Ready’ is available now and the program is designed to empower employers of any size to reopen safely. It is the first to offer a solution focused on helping small businesses manage returning to work, providing a self-serve portal that lets business owners begin the process in a matter of minutes. This portal is offered at no cost to businesses with up to 20 employees.

“We felt it was critical to offer a return to work solution that is inclusive of small businesses. They are the backbone of the country and key to reigniting economic growth,“ said Bali. “And our program is much more than testing and tracing. We are providers delivering end-to-end care, from prevention and testing to monitoring and ongoing care management, including contact tracing.”

Larger workforces are invited to work with Carbon Health to customize the program to their individual needs. The ‘COVID Ready’ program is already being deployed in large-scale enterprises with thousands of employees, offering custom solutions for return to work protocols based on factors such as industry, physical space constraints, and population. The full-serve enterprise program offers detailed implementation plans that include executive communication, leadership training, and employee roll out.

The core ‘COVID Ready’ program consists of:

  • Testing & Assessment: A comprehensive baseline assessment through the Carbon Health app and a COVID-19 diagnostic test. All tests offered by Carbon Health are FDA EUA authorized. COVID-19 Home Test Kits – offered in partnership with 1Health.io and delivered straight to an employee’s home – will be available this summer.

    • 1Health.io offers the first FDA EUA authorized at-home COVID-19 saliva test
  • Prevention & Education: A series of educational modules are offered to ensure employees understand ongoing infection risks, potential outbreak management, and best practices on maintaining clean and safe workspaces.
  • Ongoing Monitoring & Care: Daily check-ins through the Carbon Health app for easy symptom monitoring and tracking. Carbon Health providers are available if care is required or a follow-up test is appropriate.
  • Contact Tracing & Containment: If an employee is confirmed with a positive COVID-19 test result, a contact tracing process will be managed by a Carbon Health provider.

“We are very excited to partner with Carbon Health to help them launch their ‘COVID Ready’ program,” said Mehdi Maghsoodnia, CEO of 1Health.io. “The Carbon Health team is very focused on helping businesses deploy a comprehensive but easy to deploy program for their business partners.”

The ‘COVID Ready’ program and all Carbon Health platforms are HIPAA compliant and secure.
