Melbourne fintech Nauticus Blockchain has targeted a $25 million equity raise to fulfill its vision for low cost, borderless financial transactions.

The company launched in 2018 and has amassed a 50,000 strong community across Facebook, Telegram and Twitter, who help guide the development of its products. Trading on its digital currency exchange went live in the fourth quarter of last year. It now offers 17 currencies and AUD with more added each week.

The funds raised will enable Nauticus to onboard 2.9 million users by 2022 and support an extensive cross-platform marketing spend, cross jurisdiction banking and financial licenses and to expand the team internationally. Conservative discounted cash flow analysis values the business post raise at $74.2 million.

“We urge people who share our vision of ethical, low cost and borderless finance to join us on this journey,” CEO Bryan Ng said.

The head of accounting firm First Accountants, Ng founded the company after watching his overseas born staff members struggle with high fees as they wired money to their families.

“Imagine what a difference it would make in a developing country if 100% of the money arrived in the local economy, rather than 90-95% after the wire transfer companies have taken their cut,” he asked.

With 280,000 accounts in 84 countries around the world, Nauticus is well on its way to becoming Australia’s first globally focused digital currency exchange. The team draws talent from National Australia Bank (AUS), ANZ (AUS), Goldman Sachs (UK), Bank of Melbourne (AUS), Accenture (USA), News Corp (AUS) and Telstra (AUS).

Nauticus is built on the twin foundations of security and compliance, a key requirement as the company moves into securities trading, FOREX and international remittances later this year. Nauticus is regulated by AUSTRAC and is an authorized representative of an AFSL licensee, enabling it to tokenize assets and company shares.

The intuitive mobile app has just been submitted to the Google Play store. Based on the Easy Trading Wizard, it aims to making trading digital currencies, FOREX and international payments as simple as possible for newcomers.

Dash and Aircoins Join Forces to Power Cryptocurrency Treasure Hunt in Augmented Reality

Dash, the top digital currency for payments and e-commerce, today announced a partnership with the leading cryptocurrency augmented reality (AR) app, Aircoins. By downloading the Aircoins app, users can hunt, collect and send Dash cryptocurrency worldwide alongside other Aircoins users in an AR environment.

Anytime a user downloads the Aircoins app, there will be a random drop of coins, including Dash, around them. Users can then collect them by moving close to the coins and using their phones as an augmented reality tool. The Aircoins team is promoting usage of the withdrawal function by having full Dash coins appear in 10 major cities around the world for users to find. Initial cities are: New YorkAmsterdamBangkok and Medellin. Dash and Aircoins will communicate the location of additional cities through their respective social channels (@Dashpay and @aircoins_App).

In a first for the AR and crypto worlds, players will have the ability to pick up Dash currency in Aircoins AR environment, transfer it to any Dash-enabled crypto wallet in a quick transaction — thanks to Dash’s InstantSend feature — and use it at one of the 4,800+ retailers worldwide that accept Dash, cash out at one of the 700 ATMs, or move it into one of the many exchanges that trade Dash globally.

“As interest and adoption around AR and cryptocurrency continues to increase, merging the two through a fun game is an exciting step for both technologies,” said Ernesto Contreras, business development manager LatAm of Dash Core Group. “This partnership will allow Dash to reach new markets by allowing users to collect coins as they move around cities, and because they can now use that currency, this will open up a new engagement model and user experience. AR is poised for exceptional growth and together Dash and Aircoins are primed to engage users along that journey.”

As the first app to enable cryptocurrencies in AR, Aircoins has been a key player in innovating the digital ecosystem and pushing the boundaries around how individuals can experience and interact with cryptocurrency. Aircoins has helped both its users and partners explore new currencies and ultimately expand their reach and ownership through the rich engagement platform AR offers users. In the near future, Aircoins users will be able to exchange other coins they collect in the app into Dash, which users can subsequently withdraw, and use for purchases.

“Aircoins is excited to integrate Dash digital cash and work strategically with the Dash Core Group. The Dash protocol is a perfect fit for retailers and cryptocurrency users because of its low transaction fees and InstantSend feature,” said Emal Safi, CEO, Aircoins. “Aircoins layers geolocation, gaming and augmented reality to make rewards and using Dash fun and convenient while providing an interactive experience. These innovations in technology create new payment and advertising opportunities as we drive foot traffic to retailers and merchants. Aircoins has created a vast network of users and blockchain assets that motivates to grow the decentralized economies and push for mass adoption.”

David Chaum’s groundbreaking metadata-protecting blockchain platform, Elixxir, today announced the launch of the Elixxir Early Access Developer Program, offering third-party developers an opportunity to build on the Elixxir protocol.

Developers can submit a proposal on the Elixxir website for the early access developer program. If selected, they will be able to build on Elixxir’s public AlphaNet, launching this summer.

Through the AlphaNet, developers will be able to build both traditional and distributed applications which communicate, discover, and operate securely and anonymously through the cMix protocol.  Developers will use the Elixxir ArrowSDK software development kit to integrate metadata-protected communications seamlessly in anything they can build.

“Elixxir’s ArrowSDK is a set of simple yet powerful tools. We are making it easy for any developer to put the world’s best privacy-protecting communications into their projects,” said David Chaum, Founder and CEO of Elixxir.

The ArrowSDK is written in Golang, and is portable across a variety of platforms and operating systems. The ArrowSDK will serve as the platform’s interface for all developers; the SDK will be updated as Elixxir moves from AlphaNet, to BetaNet, to MainNet.

Proposals for the Early Access Developer Program will be accepted on an ongoing basis with developer access opening with the AlphaNet release in late summer.  The AlphaNet will be the first-ever public test of the cMix protocol as supported by a team of partner nodes.  Alongside the developer program, Elixxir will launch and test metadata-resistant messenger functionality on the platform.

“No platform can be successful without a robust developer community – from the beginning Elixxir has prioritized our APIs as a core component of the protocol.  We’re excited to place these tools in developers’ hands and look forward to seeing what they build,” said Benjamin Wenger, Elixxir’s VP of Architecture.

Artprice Presents a Ranking of Contemporary Art Museums in France Based on Google Opinions – Methodology and Facts, Which Have Been Legally Verified

Methodology: the Organe Contemporary Art Museum which manages the Abode of Chaos wished to measure the Internet popularity of Contemporary Art Museums in France in as reliable a manner as possible.

After consultation with the statisticians and econometricians at Server Group and Artprice we agreed that only Google’s ‘ecosystem’ (search engine, Google Maps, Google Street View, Google Earth, Google Photos, and others Google applications) is indisputably the only legitimate reference on the Internet, both in terms of the number of users and visibility, but also in terms of reliability with real-time security measures that Google uses to avoid fraud.

Google is the only internet operator to systematically post all the cultural venues of each country all over the world. To date, we are not aware of any Contemporary Art Museum in France that has refused to appear in Google’s applications. In fact, Google is today considered by 97% of the French population as the only player to have replaced the old French directories (white and yellow pages). Opinions posted on Google are not influenced or impacted by Google’s commercial initiatives or those of any third parties. From that point of view, Google’s services are totally unique on the Internet.

The methodology adopted involved identifying all Contemporary Art Museums, whatever their location, with more than 500 opinions/reviews to their names. This high number avoids any distortions that could be associated with smaller samples.

This ranking, legally verified by a notary public, may not under any circumstances be Interpreted as a qualitative ranking; it only provides an econometric analysis of the massive flows of information from Google’s databanks. All the museum names mentioned in this ranking, and in particular the description of Google’s ecosystem, are the property of their respective authors.
