Largest independent healthcare organisation implements free programme to promote healthy family dynamic
ProHEALTH Care announces the new Parenting Lounge educational series designed to help parents improve their parenting skills. The programme is free to all parents and will begin with pilot events. ProHEALTH Care is introducing this to promote a healthy family dynamic and better support the parents in the community it serves. The ProHEALTH Care Parenting Lounge will host educational courses geared to teach parents general parenting skills.
“The ProHEALTH Care Parenting Lounge will address common parenting concerns that are especially challenging for all parents such as prenatal care, newborn care, and breastfeeding, and offer solutions to assist and support parents as their children develop and grow. We also believe it is extremely important to offer these classes free to our communities to give parents and families the tools and knowledge to start their children’s lives off as healthy as possible. By providing these classes as a free service to our communities, we hope we can impact this critical development time.” said Elizabeth Bigos, MHA, RN, Chief Nursing Officer at ProHEALTH Care.
Initially, the series will focus on prenatal and postnatal needs, with three programmes: The Prenatal Experience, The Breastfeeding Experience, and The Newborn Experience. The classes will take place at the ProHEALTH Care Parenting Lounge, Quad Cafe Conference Room, located in the ProHEALTH Care campus headquarters in Lake Success, NY.
CBD Industry – Green Growth Brands Expands
I am involved in health, nutrition, and natural therapies. Not just as hobbies, but also I’ve studied throughout my previous life and used from more than 10 years natural health prevention products, and I agree this is the solution for long term health stability and prevention without harming.
I have a special affinity for natural products and I really have big respect for those companies who are involved in this or invested in this. There is a need and nowadays scientists and doctors through their studies are cropping up with statements on alternative therapies and natural remedies side.
Coping with other industries with strong chemical medicines it wasn’t an easy start, nor for people’s mindset.
They have entered my favorite state in the USA, Arizona, dealing and making a definitive agreement with ZLJT LLC & Arizona Natural Pain Solutions Inc., which hold license, and they opened their cannabis dispensary, called “Desert Rose”, which is entirely involved in natural pain and medical marijuana license and products for those in need.

With this agreement, Green Growth Brands’ team was impressed by the quality of the operations, and also a dedicated team behind Desert Rose. Their products are safe and have pure quality. They also have an education center for first-time patients. They also own some type of concentrates like Butane hash oil (BHO), CO2 oil, Tinctures – The result of using alcohol to extract the active cannabinoids, creating a liquid that after that can be taken simply orally, Kief – the oldest basic type of concentrate, Hash – made from compressed Kief.

Their Cannabis Topicals are medical marijuana oils, creams, which are applied to relieve pain and discomfort. Great help to many, not to mention the elderly people.
Green Growth Brands serves a district market, they also help growing communities with a happy and active lifestyle in nature, so their interests are not far from those, who applied these in their companies.
As having an intent becoming an American Leading Company, they announce previously also the acquisition of Just Healthy LLC, which was completed at the end of January by holding a certificate for registered marijuana dispensary, cultivation, and processing site in Massachusetts.
Regarding this acquisition, the Company has elected to exercise an option to purchase land in the Northampton, in Massachusetts area for a total purchase price of USD$700,000 (CAD$923,440).

Columbus college students plan unplugged day
The idea for Unplugged Day came about after a survey which shows 89 per cent of students spend at least 3 hours on their electronic devices a day and 29 per cent of students said they never, rarely, or only sometimes interact with people in person versus online on a typical day.
“This isn’t about saying you’re a bad person because you’re on social media. It’s about making time to take a step back and realise maybe too much screen time makes you feel exhausted or maybe it’s taking a toll on your mental health,” says Mickenzie Willars, a senior studying Advertising & Graphic Design and President of CCAD’s Student Government Association.
“At Columbus College of Art & Design, we’re working to build a culture of healthy creativity—and Unplugged Day seemed like a perfect fit in our overall efforts to support CCAD student wellness,” Mundell said. “The day is intended to help the campus community refocus, gain clarity without the distraction of devices, and explore how connectivity affects mental health and wellness,” he added.
So, on Unplugged Day, the CCAD Student Government Association is planning several interactive events on campus, including a sort of analog version of Facebook, where students, staff, and faculty will be encouraged to “post on the wall” with pens and sticky notes.
“We timed Unplugged Day to a point in the semester when students tend to get stressed out and overwhelmed,” Willars says. “So, we want to provide space for students to take a break, put down their phones, and talk to each other.”
The college plans to survey faculty, staff, and students about results of the day without screen time, and CCAD’s senior administration will attend a roundtable discussion hosted by the Student Government Association after the event.
“We’re eager to learn how the day will impact our community at Columbus College of Art & Design,” says Mundell. “And we’re open to ideas of how Unplugged Day can change our culture in the long term. Because that’s what artists and designers do. They change culture.”
Canada to support the most talented scholars
Social sciences and humanities research plays an important role in building a healthier, stronger and more prosperous Canada. The Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport, announced that the Government of Canada is investing $141 million to support nearly 3,000 of Canada’s most talented scholars. These exceptional leaders will tackle a wide array of research topics that impact Canadians today like never before, including youth priorities in the North, climate change, energy, big data and many other pressing issues.
Also announced today were the 18 recipients of this year’s Canada Graduate Scholarships to Honour Nelson Mandela. In addition, to boost support for early-career researchers, overall postdoctoral funding has increased to $7 million over the next five years.
These researchers include Lee Airton, whose research is helping educate K-12 teachers about welcoming gender and sexual diversity in the classroom, and Christine Moon, whose research focuses on the role that medical assistance plays at the end of life for Korean-Canadians.
“Social sciences and humanities research is at the heart of understanding the challenges and opportunities facing our communities and our people. Nurturing young talent in these disciplines is one of the best ways to build a healthier, stronger and more prosperous Canada”, says the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport.
“Researchers in the social sciences and humanities community play a key role in all innovation. We are facing serious global challenges related to climate change, increased migration, inequality, faltering economies, health, food and water insecurity, and cyber security. The work of Canadian social sciences and humanities graduate students, scholars and researchers is contributing to addressing these problems for a brighter future”, says Ted Hewitt, President, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
“With the support of these funds, over 90 faculty and students across disciplines at Queen’s will contribute evidence-based research to issues of importance to Canadians and global citizens – from gender expression to assisted dying. The strength of our social sciences and humanities research in this country positions Canada as an international leader in facilitating dialogue, informing policy, and providing concrete solutions to global challenges”, says Daniel Woolf, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Queen’s University.
