COSTA MESA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Steve Baker has served in the financial services industry since 2005, beginning his career as a financial advisor for Smith Barney. Working with both clients and other advisors has given Steve the necessary skills to be a very successful wholesaler. As a wholesaler, he has primarily focused on alternative investments, private placements and mutual funds.

Steve joins SC Distributors from Highland Capital Management (“HCM”) where he was one of their top producing wholesalers. He covered the “Four Corners” territory (AZ, NM, CO, UT) where he was responsible for all marketing and sales activity for the mutual funds, DSTs, interval funds, non-traded BDC and REITs.

Steve was also a Regional Vice President with Realty Capital Securities from April 2012 until February 2015. In this role, he excelled within the independent broker-dealer channel, focusing on the Arizona and New Mexico territory while raising over $100M in just three years. He also served as Vice President of Sales for Walton International, selling their private placement throughout the New England region. Before his time at Walton, he was a Regional Marketing Director for The Harford Financial Group distributing their mutual funds throughout both Arizona and New Mexico.

Steve is a results-driven salesperson, who continues to be a student of the industry. The deep relationships he has fostered, combined with his knowledge of both traded and non-traded products, will prove to be a tremendous benefit to SC Distributors.

Steve resides in Scottsdale, AZ where he is an avid golfer and hockey player/fan. He played collegiate hockey at both Fairfield University and the University of Rhode Island. Steve received a Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate Finance from the University of Rhode Island and holds FINRA Series 7, and Series 63 registrations.
