Sleep apnea company supports home-centered care
TAMPA, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Millennium Physician Group, an independent physician group practicing in Florida, Texas and North Carolina, announced they have selected sleep technology company REMware™ to provide home sleep apnea testing services through their more than 750 health care providers.
REMware is the developer of a home sleep testing patented process, called DreamClear™, that simplifies and accelerates the entire diagnostic process to meet the escalating demand to detect and treat undiagnosed sleep apnea.
“Approximately 42% of Americans have one or more chronic diseases that have a strong comorbid association to undiagnosed or untreated obstructive sleep apnea,” said REMware CEO Arun Ramabadran. “Addressing sleep apnea improves value-based metrics at a lower cost, especially related to expensive health issues such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, Type 2 diabetes and depression. Providers will see a reduction of ER visits as well as fewer inpatient hospitalizations associated with these diseases.”
Headquartered in Lee County, Fla., Millennium Physician Group adds this advanced home sleep technology to their other comprehensive areas of diagnostic and wellness care, which includes imaging centers, lab services, and home care programs. Among many other things, sleep plays a crucial role in brain functions, the immune system, healing from injury or disease, and protecting against serious diseases.
“The REMware team is very responsive to the needs of our practice and our patients,” said Millennium’s Medical Director of Sleep Medicine, Fariha Abbasi-Feinberg, MD, FAASM. “I look forward to simplifying the ordering process for our providers and improving access of quality care for our patients.”
REMware maintains an exceptional 99% success rate in working with providers to complete the DreamClear home sleep test, due primarily to its technology platform with automated texts, email, app notifications and in-house personal support services.
“The proprietary technology and process yields the same thorough assessment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Central Sleep Apnea when compared to in-lab polysomnography tests, giving providers the opportunity to treat, educate and provide patients with follow-up care virtually and in the comfort of their home,” said Ramabadran.
