BRADFORD, Ontario–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 905 invite community members to join them for a special free event – Pizza, Popsicles and Stories – outside the Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library (425 Holland St. W.) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25.

Library workers have been on strike since Friday, trying to get a first collective agreement that respects the rising cost of living and the reality that half the staff have left the library over the last two years.

In addition to the family-friendly event at 6pm, several leaders will be joining the picket lines starting at 4:00 p.m. These include:

Mark Hancock, national president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees

Ahmad Gaied, secretary-treasurer of the Ontario Federation of Labour

Janice Folk-Dawson, executive vice-president of the Ontario Federation of Labour

Community members wishing to show their support for the library workers are invited to join the picket lines, come to the community event, and are encouraged to contact the mayor and council directly or visit cupe.on.ca/BWGPLworkers
