Grant from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will boost large employers’ job quality efforts, business sustainability.
DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–WorkLife Partnership announced today it received a $2 million grant to develop a repeatable framework for effectively compelling companies to pursue job quality initiatives from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The project will also identify factors that affect a large employer’s willingness and capability to enhance the quality of jobs they offer their workers.
The project will examine factors that influence large employers (1000+ workers) to invest in job quality improvements for their employees. The project will explore how benefits, such as WorkLife’s Resource Navigation service, support the needs of frontline workers while strengthening the overall health of the business. WorkLife will test different strategies to determine the most effective and replicable ways that large employers can measure job quality, while expanding its Resource Navigation service to new employers, particularly in healthcare and manufacturing.
“We want to understand what incentivizes employers to adopt comprehensive benefits for their low- and moderate-income workers and what benefits best support a workers’ holistic needs,” said Liddy Romero, CEO and Founder of WorkLife. “And, importantly, we’ll measure the correlating outcomes on the employer’s business health and how the strategy moves the employer further along their job quality journey.”
To develop the most comprehensive and innovative job quality framework and outcomes, WorkLife is partnering with nationally-renowned job quality expert Nicole Trimble to execute this project. Trimble has built her career examining how employers engage with their workforce and identifying opportunities to support the economic mobility of frontline workers. Through this partnership, WorkLife brings an extensive depth of knowledge to find solutions and guide employers to enhance quality employment opportunities.
