TORONTO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–As a proud participant sponsor, Union Digital is pleased to announce that Ontario archer Audrey Khan Arévalo has earned her way to represent Canada at the World Archery Youth Championships being held July 3-9 in Limerick, Ireland.

Audrey was selected following her impressive performance, emerging victorious, in the under 18 female category at Canada’s national selection camp competition during the first weekend of June. This past weekend at the Canada Cup East held in Laval, Québec, Audrey continued to build on her success by accomplishing a rare feat termed the archery hat trick. She finished first in the qualification round; set a new Canadian record and won the gold medal in the Recurve, U18 Female category. Her recent past performances includes a number of stellar finishes in US competitions, most notably a silver medal finish at the 2023 Arizona Cup.

The 17 year old, grade 11, Blyth Academy student, started archery at age 7 after being inspired by watching the Disney movie, Brave. She has been actively competing across North America for the past number of years, first under the tutelage of the legendary Joan McDonald and now under current personal coach Crispin Duenas, himself a four time Olympian and recent gold medal winner at the 2023 Canada Cup East.

Duenas is impressed by his protege’s progress. “It’s a privilege to coach Audrey as I get to see firsthand her passion, dedication and talent. Her incredible focus and strong work ethic is evident daily in both her regime and her results”, said Duenas.

Nearly a century old organization, World Archery, located in the Olympic capital of Lausanne, Switzerland has more than 160 affiliated member associations representing approximately 30 million archers worldwide. The sport is promoted through both digital media and traditional broadcast arrangements. The World Archery Youth Championships have been held in cities around the globe in alternate years since 1991. The next world championship is scheduled to be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 2025.

“At Union Digital we have built our business around family and community, promoting positive relationships and opportunities for personal growth and success, said Shy Jacoby, CEO of Union Digital. When we work together and support one another great things happen. Audrey’s success is testament to that belief. We couldn’t be more proud of this amazing young Canadian woman athlete.”
