OTTAWA, Ontario–(BUSINESS WIRE)–This week, as part of a series of actions taking place across the country, TELUS workers are meeting with Members of Parliament to discuss the Canadian telecom industry and the steps the government must take to keep these Canadian jobs in Canada.

TELUS workers are members of the United Steelworkers union (USW) Local 1944 and will be holding a press conference to highlight the need for government to step in to stop hundreds of TELUS jobs a year from being shipped overseas, pass anti-scab legislation to ensure workers can fight for their jobs and rights, and use procurement policy and the millions of dollars in federal government contracts with TELUS to stop effectively endorsing TELUS’s anti-Canadian actions.
