The NoCo Hemp Expo announces a call for hemp industry trailblazers and emerging hemp companies for inaugural events at the 8th Annual NoCo Hemp Expo in Denver, March 23-25, 2022.

Hemp industry pioneers are being sought for nominations in multiple categories for the first annual WAFBA Awards of Excellence, presented by the Global Hemp Association at a banquet held at NoCo8 on Thursday, March 24, from 7:00-9:00pm, in the Let’s Talk Hemp Ballroom.
NoCo Hemp Pitch
Emerging hemp firms ready to move to the next level are encouraged to pitch their companies in a “Shark Tank” style event to a panel of investors and experts for a prize valued at $2,000 at the NoCo Hemp Pitch, Thursday, March 24, 3:30-5:00pm, at the Let’s Talk Hemp Investment Summit.
“The Awards of Excellence banquet and the NoCo Hemp Pitch are brand new events at NoCo8, and we are excited to evolve and add value to the longest-running and most extensive hemp trade show in the United States,” said Morris Beegle, founder of WAFBA (We Are for Better Alternatives) and organizer of the NoCo Hemp Expo and Southern Hemp Expo.
“Along with more than 100 speakers, educational events and exhibitors, we are bringing the industry together to create a can’t-miss event,” Beegle said.
Hemp Leaders to be Honored by Peers
Presented by the Global Hemp Association, the WAFBA Awards of Excellence will honor leaders in hemp who have moved the industry forward.
“Global Hemp Association is proud to present the WAFBA Awards of Excellence at NoCo8,” said Mandi Kerr, Founder and CEO of Global Hemp Association. “We recognize the accomplishments and hard work of so many people within the hemp industry. Those efforts have not gone unnoticed.”
Members of the hemp industry are asked to help select the 2022 award winners by nominating individuals or groups in five categories: The Legacy Award; The Elevation Award – (Advancing the Industry Through Impeccable Leadership); Community Economic Impact; Mother Earth Award (Lady of Agriculture) and Best New Tech Award for Tech Innovation.

Emerging Hemp Companies Sought for NoCo Hemp Pitch
The NoCo Hemp Pitch, sponsored by Michael Best, will open up the stage to six companies looking to elevate their business and get the exposure and resources needed to take their brand or idea to the next level.
Finalists will pitch in front of a live audience and be judged by start-up consultants, attorneys, and investors. The winning company will receive initial legal services valued at $2,000 and other prizes.
“Hemp companies are innovating every day and ready to break into new opportunities in consumer packaged goods, industrial materials and food and medical ingredients all through the international marketplace,” said Cameron Field, cannabis legal expert and senior counsel for Michael Best. “Now is the time to reach the next level,” he added.
Interested companies can enter their application in the NoCo Hemp Pitch here. The deadline for applications is March 1, 2022, and six finalists will be announced on March 7.
Hemp Business and Innovation
The NoCo Hemp Expo two-day trade show and conference will feature programming on infrastructure, investment, health & wellness, organic & regenerative agriculture, carbon & climate and diversity & inclusion in hemp.
Events include the NoCo Business Conference and Investment Summit and B2B trade show on Thursday, March 24, and the Farm Symposium and Ag Tech Forum on Friday, March 25, with the trade show open to the public.
