New research reveals the internet’s most loved and hated Batman actors

 

  • Ahead of the release of The Batman on the 4th of March, Ebuyer has taken a trip to Gotham City to reveal the franchise’s most popular portrayals of Batman and Batman villains
  • Adam West is revealed as the most loved Batman actor (16.5%) while Uma Thurman’s Poison Ivy was revealed as the most loved villain (43.7%)
  • Robert Pattinson has pulled in 195,000 conversations in the past year, while Zoë Kravitz pulled in 55,000 conversations

The Caped Crusader is back, as The Batman pulls up at a cinema near you on the 4th of March. But when the masks are off who is the internet’s most loved Batman actor? And which of his arch nemeses have charmed the web?

To celebrate the release, British electronics retailer Ebuyer has used social listening tools to reveal the internet’s most favoured portrayals of Batman and Batman villains over the past year, as well as those who are generating the most positive and negative sentiment.

In the wake of the new Batman movie, Robert Pattinson generates the most buzz online

Robert Pattinson clinches the top spot for online buzz, with 195,000 conversations generated. Describing his Batman as the most “nihilistic” yet, the internet is getting down and gritty with what could be the darkest portrayal in the franchise.

However, predecessor Ben Affleck pulls in 147,000 conversations with the public asking: “Will Ben Affleck return as Batman?” With a 16.2% positive sentiment towards R-Patz fans are clearly expecting big things – so perhaps Affleck should hold on waiting by the phone.

Adam West was revealed as the most loved Batman while Val Kilmer was the most hated

Iconic Batman actor Adam West was revealed as the most loved Batman with a 16.5% positive sentiment.

Yet, Val Kilmer is the public’s most hated Batman, generating a 6.1% negative sentiment. But will Robert Pattinson’s latest performance propel him up the rankings? You’ll have to wait until the 4th of March to find out…

Uma Thurman’s Poison Ivy is the most loved villain while Jeep Swenson’s Bane was the most hated

Now a hero is nothing without their villain – and sometimes we can even end up rooting for them. When it comes to Uma Thurman’s 1997 portrayal of Poison Ivy, with a 43.7% positive sentiment she has infected the heart of many as the most loved Batman villain.

However, Jeep Swenson’s comical portrayal of Bane pulled in an overwhelming negative sentiment of 12.2%.

Zoe Kravitz generates the most buzz as the Catwoman to Robert Pattinson’s Batman with 55,000 conversations. However, Heath Ledger’s Oscar-winning performance as The Joker still generated over 34,100 conversations in the past year.
