Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation (DDCOF) – devoted to its mission of providing the necessary care for oral health and well-being – will be allocating $10 million over the next four years to advance oral health equity. The foundation has also announced grant opportunities and is currently accepting applications at www.deltadentalcofoundation.org.

Executive director Adeeb Khan introduces Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation’s new strategic initiatives:

Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation is part of Delta Dental of Colorado, engaging in philanthropic activities. It addresses the needs of communities it serves, targeting root-cause solutions. The foundation works to revolutionize the way people access and benefit from oral health care, highlighting its value and importance. DDCOF partners with local communities across Colorado to implement transformative programs and initiatives.

The new initiatives stand on four pillars:

  • Increased diversity in the oral health care workforce
  • Early childhood prevention
  • Quality oral health care access in east Metro Denver and the San Luis Valley
  • Investment in oral health infrastructure

The new strategic approach is backed by research and experience, stemming from the belief that everyone deserves decent oral health, indifferent of life circumstances.

“We believe every person deserves a healthy mouth regardless of life circumstances,” said Adeeb Khan, vice president of corporate social responsibility and executive director, Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation. “Every community has unique assets, needs, and priorities, and together we can address community needs, implement activities to improve oral health, and influence long-term change.”

Grant applications are currently open for nonprofit organizations based in Colorado and are due by midnight Sunday, 22 August 2021. Applying organizations must provide activities that align with the four pillars of the initiative and work to deepen commitment to oral health, supporting the mission of the foundation.
