Earlier this year, we floated an intriguing possibility: What if there was a way to get a Ford Bronco without haggling, at a pretty good price, from participating dealers? Many Ford models are eligible for X-Plan pricing, an “employee pricing plan” available to nearly anyone who meets certain conditions. But while we were pretty sure that limited-edition Broncos, like the 2021 Ford Bronco First Edition, would be excluded, we weren’t sure about run-of-the-mill Broncos. Sadly, a Ford representative confirmed that no 2021 Ford Broncos will be eligible for the special pricing, as noticed by Bronco6G.com.
Due to unprecedented demand and limited supply Bronco 2- and 4- door models will not be eligible for X-plan in 21MY. This is similar to other limited supply vehicles like F-150 Raptor, Mustang Shelby models. Bronco will offer AZD Plan pricing for all series except First Edition.

While disappointing to potential Bronco customers, it’s understandable if demand is indeed so high for all models. And Ford has been very up-front about the fact that X-Plan pricing isn’t available to vehicles that, as the Ford representative describes, are in limited supply. Do note that this only applies to the 2021 model year—if the supply/demand situation changes, Ford could make a different eligibility determination down the road.
Also note that several Ford discount plans are still applicable to the 2021 Ford Bronco 2- and 4-Door. “AZD Plan pricing” refers to A-Plan (Ford employees), Z-Plan (Ford retirees), and D-Plan (Ford dealership employees)—all these will still apply to the 2021 Bronco.
If you’re interested in other Ford vehicles that might have X-Plan pricing available, you might be wondering how you can qualify. Ford and Lincoln extend X-Plan pricing to several groups. Essentially, X-Plan is an employee-like pricing scheme for family members or friends “sponsored” by an eligible Ford employee—to use X-Plan, that is, you normally have to be invited in. But it also extends to members of certain organizations and groups. The one that’s best known for providing X-Plan pricing as a benefit is Mustang Club of America. If you purchase a membership—currently $25 for one year—and then wait 60 days, you can utilize X-Plan pricing at a participating dealer. Currently, Mustang Club doesn’t require anything other than payment and registration to become a member—Mustang ownership isn’t required. This is probably the easiest way to qualify for X-Plan pricing if you don’t meet any of the other participation requirements.
There is another way, and this one will probably appeal most to people who already own some Ford stock. If you own 100 shares of Ford (at the time of this writing, around $7 per share), and you hold the shares for 6 months, you can participate in the Shareholder X-Plan by following the process outlined by Ford. Because of the cost, and the wait time, this will be less attractive to people looking to get a deal on a new Bronco than the Mustang Club process, but if you already own the stock this could be a good option.
We should note that all of the Ford discount pricing schemes are subject to change, so make sure you check the plan details and confirm that your preferred dealer will honor the pricing before making any assumptions.
