Call for Entry: 2020 Effie Collegiate Brand Challenge Presented by IBM

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#Effies–Effie Collegiate United States has announced its Call for Entry for the 2020 Effie Collegiate Brand Challenge, Presented by IBM.

Modeled after the Effie Awards U.S. competition, which recognizes marketing effectiveness, Effie Collegiate U.S. engages tomorrow’s marketers by providing an opportunity to research, ideate, and execute comprehensive marketing communications plans that address professional-level marketing challenges for established brands.

For this year’s competition, IBM invites college students across the U.S. to develop a non-traditional integrated marketing campaign focused on IBM and The Weather Channel app, the world’s most downloaded weather app. The campaign should drive relevance for the IBM brand and showcase the interesting and surprising ways that IBM and The Weather Channel (an IBM Business) affect consumers’ daily lives. The entry deadline is April 2, 2020.

The competition is open to students who are currently enrolled full/part-time at accredited educational institutions, including undergraduate/graduate students, and those enrolled in portfolio programs and online courses. Entries may be submitted by teams of two to four individuals.

Submissions will be judged by marketing industry professionals with diverse experience across client, agency, and media companies. Following a round of judging, selected finalists will have the opportunity to present their work to senior members of the IBM brand team at their New York office. IBM will award monetary prizes to the First-Place ($3,000) and Runner-Up ($2,000) teams. The academic department of the First-Place winning team will also receive a prize of $1,000.

All Brand Challenge participants will also receive access to the Effie Collegiate Curriculum, which will guide students through a selection of Effie-winning cases to introduce the Effie framework for marketing effectiveness and illustrate how to apply it to their projects. All students and professors will receive complimentary access to the curriculum following registration for the competition.
