Estrella TV’s Premios de la Radio 2019 Delivers Smashing Ratings Success Across Key Stations and Demos Nationally

Latin music awards show draws more Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 than UniMas and Galavision combined in the time period

As the largest and most important Latin music awards show recognizing and celebrating Regional Mexican music in the United States, EstrellaTV’s Premios de la Radio show experienced a 4% increase in Adults 18-49 viewership as compared to its telecast in 20181, drawing more Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 than fourth and fifth ranked competitors UniMas and Galavision combined.2

In Los Angeles, Premios de la Radio ranked #2 regardless of language with Adults 18-34, outpacing Univision, Telemundo, ABC, CBS and NBC stations in the market.3 And with the event taking place live in Dallas for the first time, the awards show ranked #1 with Adults 18-34 & Adults 18-49 in Dallas and #2 in Houston, among Hispanic TV stations, delivering substantial growth in both markets compared to last year’s telecast.4

This year, the star studded lineup of Premios de la Radio was broadcast live from Dallas, Texas and included a fusion of some of today’s biggest hit makers in Latin Pop and Regional Mexican music, such as international super star Gloria Trevi, Mexico’s Pop Princess Belinda and pop duo Rio Roma, as well as award-winning Regional Mexican icons such as Banda MS, Bronco, Huracanes del Norte, Gerardo Ortiz, Pancho Barraza, Christian Nodal, Edith Marquez, Ana Bárbara, Chiquis, and Horacio Palencia. Some of the show’s highlights included a world premiere exclusive of Trevi’s Cumbia version of her smash hit “Abranse Perras,” as well as several never before seen musical collaborations, including one by Belinda and Horacio Palencia of their #1 hit “Amor a Primera Vista.” The event concluded with an emotional Selena finale tribute performed by Ana Bárbara, Edith Marquez, Belinda and Chiquis in front of a sold out audience at The Theater at Grand Prairie.
