Axos Bank Gives Over $155,000 to San Diego’s Hope Leadership Academy

Donations support mentoring youth in underserved communities

SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#futureleader–Axos Bank today announced that it has donated over $155,000 since 2014 to Hope Leadership Academy (HLA), a San Diego non-profit that runs mentorship programs to help youth from fatherless homes in underserved communities overcome poverty, abuse, addiction and other barriers to success.

“While Axos is a digital-first bank, we’re fully committed to improving the local, real-world communities where we live and work,” said Axos President and CEO Greg Garrabrants. “We share Hope Leadership Academy’s belief that mentorship can change the world one kid at a time, and we are honored to partner with them in their mission.”

Hope Leadership Academy Founder Willie Briscoe said that Axos not only provides financial support to his organization, but Axos employees also volunteer their time to teach after-school financial literacy courses to children in HLA’s programs.

“Axos Bank is what we call the trifecta of corporate support: they help with time, talent and treasure,” Briscoe said. “All three of those things are necessary for success in a program like ours. We wish all of our corporate support was similar to that.”
