Dana Rosenfeld Named Managing Partner of Kelley Drye & Warren LLP

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Kelley Drye & Warren LLP Chair Jim Carr announced today that Dana Rosenfeld has been appointed Managing Partner, effective January 1, 2020. She is the first woman to serve in this role and will succeed current Managing Partner Lew Rose when he retires at the end of 2019.

As Managing Partner, Dana will oversee the day-to-day management of Kelley Drye, including all aspects of the firm’s operations, and work closely with the firm’s Chair and Executive Committee on strategic initiatives for Kelley Drye.

“Dana will be an excellent steward of Kelley Drye,” said Jim. “Having served on the Executive Committee, Earnings Allocation Committee, and chaired the Attorneys Committee, she has a strategic view of the firm and champions a vision for future growth. Dana is sharp, collaborative, and a superb advocate for her clients, and I am confident that these skills and her leadership style will make her an exceptional managing partner.”

“I am truly honored to serve as Kelley Drye’s next managing partner,” said Dana. “During his tenure, Lew introduced policies that enhance the business of the firm and promote a client-focused and entrepreneurial culture. I look forward to continuing these efforts and collaborating with Jim and all of firm management to drive value for our clients and facilitate an inclusive workplace for our attorneys and staff.”

Dana prides herself on cultivating ideas from diverse perspectives and welcomes contributions from the ground up so that the whole firm is engaged in Kelley Drye’s forward progress. One of her core priorities is to advance the firm’s commitment to its client service standards. To this end, she has convened a client service and innovation committee to create dialogue with clients about how they can better serve their needs with new processes and technology solutions.

Dana will uphold the firm’s core values of collegiality, transparency and entrepreneurial spirit while focusing on organic growth by nurturing future leaders of the firm. “Many of our most successful partners started their careers at Kelley Drye. It’s very important that we invest in our people and foster an environment in which lawyers have an opportunity for challenging work and professional growth,” added Dana.

Under Jim’s leadership, Kelley Drye has intensified efforts to recruit, retain and promote professionals from diverse backgrounds, and the firm has made strides in advancing more women to leadership positions. Dana will head a leadership team in which women are well-represented on the Executive Committee, as Office Managing Partners, Practice Group Leaders and on important committees. She has actively supported internal and external programs to increase diversity within the profession and to promote leadership opportunities for women and lawyers from historically underrepresented groups.

Dana has been a partner and served as Chair of Kelley Drye’s Privacy and Information Security practice for nine years. She has spent her career in private practice representing high-profile clients before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and state attorneys general in complex law enforcement investigations involving privacy and data security practices, substantiation of advertising claims, and compliance with trade regulation rules. Before private practice, she was an Assistant Director of the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection and Attorney Advisor to FTC Chairman Robert Pitofsky. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Dana received her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and a B.A., with honors, from the University of Maryland – College Park.
