Penguins Astro and Springer weigh in on the series outcome with a little help from their friends
GALVESTON, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–With seemingly everyone predicting which team will take home the title of World Series champions, the South Atlantic Penguins at the Moody Gardens Aquarium Pyramid took a whack at predicting the winner of this year’s MLB championship series.
On the heels of a historic regular season 107-55, a franchise record for most wins in a season and the best record in baseball for the 2019 season, the Houston Astros are in the midst of a World Series faceoff with the Washington Nationals, a formidable opponent.
The Aquarium Pyramid’s South Atlantic penguin exhibit was transformed into the ultimate battlefield for the World Series prediction with our feathery residents predicting the Houston Astros for a World Series championship.
Among the penguins involved in the prediction were Astro and Springer. Both penguins were born at Moody Gardens in early 2018 just a few months after the memorable Houston Astros 2017 World Series win. Fans voted to name both birds in honor of the Houston Astros and besides commentating and predicting the outcome of this year’s World Series they enjoy their home at Moody Gardens.
