Presentation will offer insight around engaging the most disengaged employees and why this matters
CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Maestro Health, a leading all-in employee health and benefits company, is pleased to announce a speaking session at the Self-Insurance Institute of America’s (SIIA) 39th Annual National Educational Conference & Expo. Maestro Health’s Chief Growth Officer Ray West will present a session titled “Helping Self-Funded Organizations Engage the Unengaged to Create Better Health Plans,” which will focus on employee disengagement and the impact on organizations’ bottom lines. During the discussion he will be joined by Will Peterson, VP Operations, Phoebe Putney Health System who will provide real-world examples of potential solutions to employee health (and health plan) disengagement.
“As with many things, the reasons that people do not engage with their own health are complex. Lack of engagement is not an easy problem to solve,” said Ray West, Chief Growth Officer, Maestro Health. “Solutions must focus less on quick fixes, and more on the long term. We need to consider why people have not engaged with their health and how to address their individual perceptions in order to encourage engagement and improve outcomes.”
In this presentation, attendees can expect to learn:
- The six stages of disengagement and why employees traditionally fall into these specific categories
- How employers can use personalized education to optimize engagement with a disengaged audience
- Why addressing health engagement issues will ultimately result in better business outcomes
- Real-world examples from Phoebe Putney Health System on engaging the disengaged
“This topic should be a top concern for employers. Health has a tremendous impact on other areas of a person’s life, including productivity and performance at work, and we often fail to realize how productivity and performance at work affects their personal life as well. By addressing issues that are limiting engagement with one’s own healthcare, employers are bound to see healthier, happier and all-around better employees,” added West.
SIIA’s National Conference & Expo is dedicated to offering education and resources to attendees from all segments within the self-funded marketplace, including self-insured employers, third party administrators, captive managers and advisors, stop-loss insurance carriers, brokers and key service providers.
