Friends in Adoption Announces the Appointment of Tara Saltis as its Executive Director, Effective August 1, 2019

POULTNEY, Vt. & SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–On August 1, 2019, the Friends in Adoption (FIA) Board of Directors unanimously appointed Tara Saltis as the new Executive Director of FIA.

For the past 15 years, Tara has served as FIA’s Director of Operations and Finance. In that capacity, Tara has had a leading role in developing FIA’s policies, supporting compassionate adoption, empowerment of pregnant individuals and expectant parents, inclusiveness, resiliency and life-long support and respect for all members of the family of adoption. FIA’s commitment to these policies, which made FIA into the agency it is today, remain unchanged.

Tara succeeds Dawn Smith Pliner, FIA’s founder. The FIA Board wishes to thank Dawn for the 37 years that she has invested in making compassionate adoption a viable alternative for all members of the family of adoption and looks forward to working with Tara and the FIA leadership team on the continued advancement of this fundamental part of FIA’s mission.
