NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Fordham Law School announced today the launch of the Center for Judicial Engagement & Clerkships (CJEC) led by Professor Daniel J. Capra as faculty director and Suzanne M. Endrizzi ’96 as assistant dean. In April when the School announced the creation of the CJEC it was noted as having two intertwined mandates: judicial engagement and clerkship support. The center will develop innovative ways to engage members of the judiciary in the life of the School. Simultaneously, it will maximize coordination among the many engagements already occurring to enrich student life. It will also build upon existing clerkship successes by enhancing support for Fordham Law students and alumni.
“Our law school has a rich tradition of serving as a pipeline for judicial clerkships,” said Fordham Law Dean Matthew Diller. “In any given term we have had between 45 and 55 clerks at the federal and state levels. I am thrilled that Dan and Suzanne are focusing their immense talents to build a best-in-class center. Dan has been the leading force in our clerkship successes and built crucial bridges to the judiciary as our faculty clerkship committee chair and Suzanne adeptly led our Career Planning Center with tremendous strategic vision and energy through both good and challenging economic times.”
In the CJEC’s inaugural year, its leaders will be developing and implementing the center’s strategic vision as well as building and strengthening partnerships with the judiciary, alumni, students, and faculty. The center will also strengthen the existing clerkship support for students and alumni by designing innovative programming, marshaling resources, and developing strategic partnerships. Moreover, the CJEC will provide enhanced support to Fordham Law alumni to help them achieve their desired post-clerkship career paths.
“We are incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful cohort of judges – both alumni and friends of Fordham – at the state and federal levels to draw upon for guidance, and a vibrant and engaged alumni clerk network to support our endeavors,” said Endrizzi. “Leading the Career Planning Center for more than a decade has shown me the true sense of community at Fordham Law, and I am excited to turn the page to this next chapter developing this center with Dan.”
