SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#Forbes—Forbes has announced its third annual ranking of America’s Next Gen Best-in-State Wealth Advisors from all 50 states. Locally, four San Diego-based and an additional four Newport Beach-based UBS financial advisors have made the listing. In all, there were 158 UBS advisors included on the national list.
The local UBS rising stars include:
- Blake Foster of the Newport Beach branch
- Brian Gooding of the Newport Beach branch
- Alex Howell of the La Jolla branch
- James Loynes of the Newport Beach branch
- Timothy Thatcher of the Newport Beach branch
- Earl B. (Bryan) Thompson of the downtown San Diego branch
- Kalyn Maher Walker of the San Diego Carmel Valley branch, who ranked #75 in the top 250 nationwide
- Brian Young of the Carmel Valley branch
Several of these advisors were also listed in the Forbes 2018 listing of Best-in-State Next Generation Advisors, including Blake Foster, Brian Gooding, Alex Howell, Bryan Thompson, and Kalyn Maher-Walker. This is the first year that Walker has placed in the top 250 nationwide.
Chris Marsh, managing director and market head for UBS in San Diego and Newport, says, “These younger advisors are the industry’s future leaders. They care deeply about financial stewardship for their current clients and about providing a legacy for the next generations. We are quite proud of them all, and of their teams. They support their UBS clients every day, and we look forward to a positive future for the wealth management industry with these bright minds leading it.”
With its research partner, Shook Research, the magazine conducts deep due diligence by interviewing advisors, via telephone and in person, to measure them qualitatively, and to identify best practices, service models, investing process, business types, leadership capabilities, and integrity. Forbes considers such factors as compliance records, client retention, revenues produced for their firms and assets managed. Forbes does not consider portfolio performance because of varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Both quantitative and qualitative data are fed into an algorithm that produces a ranking score.
