CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Ariel Investments, LLC today announced that the firm has tapped Adam Hodge to serve as senior vice president for External Affairs. He joins Ariel from SKDKnickerbocker, a public affairs firm based in Washington, where he provided strategic counsel to a range of corporate and non-profit clients. Adam will start on Tuesday, September 3rd.

Before joining SKDKnickerbocker, Adam was the communications director at the Democratic National Committee and also served as the U.S. Treasury Department deputy assistant secretary for Public Affairs. In that role, he advised Secretary Jack Lew and senior Treasury officials while leading strategic communications efforts for several domestic finance issues. His portfolio focused on regulation of financial markets, Treasury’s financial crisis investment portfolio, including the IPO General Motors, and housing finance reform issues. Earlier in his career, Adam served as the press secretary for House Majority Whip James Clyburn and in the office of former Senator Chris Dodd.
