National Root Beer Float Day celebration raises money for Disabled American Veterans (DAV)

LEXINGTON, Ky.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#RootBeer–A&W, which this summer became the first franchised restaurant chain to turn 100, is again giving away Root Beer Floats on National Root Beer Float Day, Tuesday, August 6. During the celebration, A&W’s restaurants nationwide will raise money for Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

From 2-8 p.m., participating locations will serve free, small Root Beer Floats, no purchase necessary. Guests will be encouraged to make a donation to DAV. There are about 600 A&W Restaurants in the U.S. This is A&W’s seventh annual National Root Beer Float Day celebration and the third year it has partnered with DAV. A&W and DAV raised $150,000 for the organization last year, which serves more than one million veterans annually. This year’s goal is $200,000.
