LYNCHBURG, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Yorktown Small Cap Fund (YOVIX) has added James O’Leary, CFA, as a co-portfolio manager. Mr. O’Leary is the CIO and Senior Portfolio manager for Henry James International Management Strategies.
“We are quite excited to have James officially added to the prospectus,” said current Yorktown Small Cap manager Michael Borgen of Sapphire Star Capital, which sub-advises the Fund. “We’ve worked together in the past and our systems and styles blend together very seamlessly.”
The two managers previously worked together at Navellier, where they collaborated on the international portfolio O’Leary then managed. Since leaving Navellier, O’Leary has run Henry James International Management, and will still continue to do so.
The decision has been a long time in the making, as both Borgen and O’Leary remain close friends and communicate regularly. “It got to the point where we were talking so much and sharing ideas, that it just made sense for me to join the portfolio,” said O’Leary about the change.
“This is a great thing for our shareholders,” said Borgen. “O’Leary’s familiarity with the fund will allow for him to transition quickly and hit the ground running.”
In his role as co-portfolio manager, O’Leary will provide macro-economic advice and lend his investment acumen as needed. As lead manager, Borgen will retain day to day operations investment selection and will have final investment decisions in the portfolio.
