Burgeoning cannabis market driving growth within the agency
NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Paul Wilmot Communications announces its expansion into cannabis with the roll out of a dedicated division specializing in launching brands in the CBD and THC space. The legalization of cannabis in major U.S. markets and throughout the world provide the opportunity to introduce the new uses of CBD within the broader cannabis category. The increase in consumer spending on products related to Cannabis and CBD is pointing the way that this is not a trend or a fad but a change in how many people are approaching wellness and living their lives. PWC has already been retained by three CBD and Cannabis-derived clients, which will be named this fall upon launch.
“The growth in the market for cannabis products has been nothing short of meteoric with no sign of slowing. And, there’s a tremendous opportunity to educate the general public on their benefits while creating broader, mainstream acceptance and understanding of the category,” said Paul Wilmot Communications CEO Hampton Carney. “We are taking an elevated approach given our over two decades of experience in luxury and consumer goods as well as thought leadership, which we believe sets us apart.”
PWC will be launching several new CBD and THC retail concepts and product categories ranging from skincare, wellness and anti-anxiety aids to tinctures, body balms and supplements. The new team will also handle several non-plant accessories and fashion lines. The agency has been retained for media relations, influencer campaigns, community management, thought leadership and corporate communications.
Managing Director Samantha Kain added, “We decided to break out and develop a specialized practice to manage the influx of business opportunities coming from CBD and THC. So, we created a new division within the agency solely focused on cannabis, but with the experience of strategically building brand awareness as we have done so successfully in fashion, lifestyle, and beauty. Our broadcast and podcast team will also play a significant role for these new clients given the increased ‘airtime’ dedicated to the cannabis conversation.”
Paul Wilmot Communications was established in 1997 in New York City. During its 22-year history, the agency has produced a significant public relations track record drawing from the highest profile fashion houses, beauty and wellness brands, retailer and e-comm powerhouses, as well as hospitality, non-profit and luxury lifestyle clientele. PWC works in an open forum so that our divisions can collaborate on a regular basis. Divisions include fashion and accessories, beauty and wellness, lifestyle and culture, and cannabis.
