Fuze Empowers Workforce with Skills-Based Routing Patent

Latest patent provides machine learning-powered insights for improved employee productivity

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Fuze, the leading cloud-based communications and collaboration platform provider for the modern global enterprise, today announced it has been awarded a new patent for advanced machine learning that applies skills-based routing to internal employee networks. By identifying and directing employees to the most knowledgeable internal resources, the new patent is designed to improve workforce productivity and engagement.

“Digital transformation is enabling businesses to reimagine the needs of the modern workforce. Just as consumers want to communicate with a representative whose knowledge base best fits their needs, there is a demand for machine learning tools that identify and internally route skills-based questions to the most appropriate subject matter expert,” said Colin Doherty, CEO at Fuze. “This patent validates our continued commitment to drive innovation in the enterprise by bridging gaps in user knowledge, providing our customers with the tools to empower their workforce to collaborate more effectively and efficiently.”

The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued Fuze U.S. Patent No.10,191,951. This innovation addresses methods and systems that map topic-based communications to user knowledge scores. The patent covers constructing a generative statistical model by identifying words in communications (e.g. emails, text messages, instant messages, calendar invites, videos, and phone calls) between members of an organization to calculate a topic strength for each employee. Users are able to approve skills before they are distributed across an internal network.
