Rasmussen College Gives Back During 11th Annual Community Service Day

About 700 employees spend the afternoon volunteering in local communities nationwide

MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#RasCommunityRasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, will give back to its local communities on Fri., July 19, during its 11th annual Community Service Day.1 About 700 employees from its 23 campuses, two central offices and one regional office will participate in the national service day event. Through this annual effort, faculty and staff will volunteer more than 2,100 hours in a 24-hour period.

Employees Partner with Dozens of Organizations

During this year’s Community Service Day, Rasmussen College employees will perform a variety of tasks, from working in hydroponic gardens to hosting community carnivals. The College’s newest campus in Orlando, Fla. is excited to participate in Community Service Day this year. Employees from the Orlando campus will join employees from the area Regional Office and volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank.

Florida

Employees from the College’s five other Florida campuses have partnered with local organizations, including the Harry Chapin Food Bank, Keep Lee County Beautiful, The Volunteer Way, Inc., Hillsborough Education Foundation, the Humane Society of Marion County, Ambleside School of Ocala, Belleview-Santos Elementary School and Feed the Need.

Fargo-Moorhead

Employees from the Fargo and Moorhead campuses will partner with Zach’s Foundation to host a Summer Carnival for the community and create Zach’s Buddy Bags to donate to the Roger Maris Cancer Center.

Minnesota

This year, employees from the College’s seven other Minnesota campuses and the Twin Cities Central Office will partner with several organizations, including Alexandra House, CornerstoneCommunity Emergency Assistance Programs (CEAP), the Boys & Girls Clubs, the American Red Cross, Simon Says Give, Neighbors Inc., Quiet Oaks Hospice House, Adopt a Highway, Kiwanis Holiday Lights, Fraser, Bridging, Feed My Starving Children, Lyndale Park Gardens, VEAP, Hospitality House and Catholic Charities.

Illinois

Employees from the College’s four Illinois campuses, the Chicago Central Office and the College’s learning center, Centro de Aprendizaje, will volunteer their time at various organizations, including the YMCA and West Suburban Community Pantry.

Wisconsin

In Wisconsin, employees from the College’s two campuses have partnered with Service League of Green Bay and Monk Botanical Gardens in Wausau.

Kansas

The College’s two campuses in Kansas will partner with local organizations, including the Harvesters Community Food Network in Kansas City, Mo. and Let’s Help in Topeka, Kan.
