Tanglewood Learning Institute Introduces New Dynamic Leading-Edge Programs
–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Boston Symphony Orchestra:
WHAT: The Boston Symphony Orchestra will launch a new performance facility at Tanglewood in The Berkshires, The Tanglewood Learning Institute (TLI). Tanglewood has been the BSO’s summer home since 1937 and this is the first programmatic initiative in 25 years. A ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Linde Center for Music and Learning (LCML) will kick off the grand opening weekend on Friday, June 28 at 9 a.m. with public festivities continuing throughout the weekend – including free open houses and musical performances. The open houses will feature a variety of activities that will give audiences a taste of the breadth and depth of activities offered by the Tanglewood Learning Institute this summer and into the fall, winter and spring seasons, such as:
- Workshop recital presented by five Boston University Tanglewood Institute string quartets
- Music and movement class with Lauren Grant of the Mark Morris Dance Group for people of all abilities
- Family-friendly activities including an Instrument Playground and an opportunity to play various hand percussion instruments
- Events with special guests Amanda Seyfried, John Williams, Jane Kaczmarek and more
The public can tour the facility, located along the top of the Highwood ridge, overlooking the Ozawa Lawn and more distant views of the Berkshire Hills.
WHEN: The Tanglewood Learning Institute (TLI) grand opening weekend will run Friday, June 28 through Monday, July 1, 2019.
