NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–GSO Capital Partners, Blackstone’s (NYSE: BX) credit platform, today
announced the final closing of the GSO Energy Select Opportunities Fund
II strategy (“the Fund”), at $4.5 billion. With strong support from both
existing and new investors, the Fund is among the largest dedicated
energy-focused credit funds in the market. GSO sourced commitments from
a global investor base, including U.S. state, corporate and
international pension funds, financial institutions, endowments,
foundations and family offices.
The Fund will leverage GSO’s scale, flexible capital base, strong brand
and structuring expertise to capitalize on a favorable investing
environment for our energy strategy. GSO has had a strong presence in
the energy markets since 2005, committing approximately $13 billion in
privately originated transactions.
