The online university will provide in-person administrative support
to learners
ATLANTA–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Today Capella University, an online higher education institution serving
working adults, celebrated the grand opening of its first-ever Campus
Center in Atlanta, Georgia. This marks the first time the University
will have a brick-and-mortar presence, and the Campus Center will aim to
provide in-person administrative resources for local learners.
Located at 805 Peachtree St. NE, the new Campus Center will provide
learners access to enrollment counselors, academic advisors and study
spaces to collaborate.
“Contemporary learners juggle multiple responsibilities while pursuing a
degree, including family and work responsibilities. Capella is committed
to providing a flexible education with personalized support to help them
succeed,” said Dick Senese, president of Capella University. “While our
learners will continue to take classes exclusively online, our new
Atlanta Campus Center will offer in-person resources unique to most
online education programs.”
Capella offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees, as well as
many certificate options, that span over 50 programs and 132
specializations. The University is one of only a few in the country that
offers a competency-based learning format paired with a direct
assessment model (called FlexPath),
in which learners have the flexibility to learn on their own time and
schedule.
Capella also offers a GuidedPath option, a more structured learning
format, which features weekly preset deadlines and group discussions.
Atlanta has a large population of Capella learners, making it an ideal
location for a Campus Center. “Our goal is for the new Campus Center to
serve as a networking hub for Capella learners and alumni in Atlanta and
enhance their overall education and work experience,” said Senese.
The new Campus Center will host visits with local employer partners,
providing them a space to conduct informational sessions and meet with
current learners and alumni. To learn more visit www.capella.edu/campus-locations/georgia-atlanta.
