MALVERN, Pa.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–William M. (Bill) Joseph, Senior Vice President and Senior Loan Officer
at PS Bank, in Wyalusing, Pa., has been presented with the 2019
Council’s Award from FHLBank Pittsburgh for excellence in community
investment. Joseph received the award today at an FHLBank regional
member event in Malvern, Pa. John Bendel, FHLBank Senior Director of
Community Investment, spoke about Joseph’s community achievements before
presenting him with the award.
Named in recognition of FHLBank Pittsburgh’s Affordable Housing Advisory
Council, FHLBank’s annual Council’s Award provides special recognition
to an outstanding financial services professional who has demonstrated
superior professional commitment and community spirit. The award
highlights accomplishments in meeting FHLBank’s affordable housing and
community investment mission.
With 39 years of experience in financial services, Bill Joseph is
currently a member of the senior management team at PS Bank, where he
leads lending and credit activities. Previously, he worked for 13 years
at FHLBank Pittsburgh, where his professionalism and commitment to
excellence supported the housing finance and community lending
activities of FHLBank’s member institutions.
Assisting small businesses has been a particular strength of Joseph’s
leadership. He has used FHLBank Pittsburgh’s Banking On Business product
to help dozens of small businesses gain financing they would not
otherwise have qualified to receive. He has also utilized FHLBank’s
Community Lending Program to support the operations and expansion of
many other qualified small businesses.
Joseph has exemplified a commitment to affordable housing by encouraging
PS Bank’s use of the First Front Door product to assist first-time
homebuyers with down payments and closing costs. He has also been
instrumental in supporting FHLBank’s new Home4Good product, which
provides resources to local service organizations that assist
individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
In addition to his active role as a community banker, Joseph serves his
community by volunteering with organizations that address a number of
local issues and causes. He serves on the Board of the Wyalusing Chamber
of Commerce and The Grula Foundation, which benefits children with
cancer and supports pediatric cancer research. He also volunteers with
several other nonprofit organizations.
As part of the Council’s Award, FHLBank Pittsburgh presented a $1,000
check on Joseph’s behalf to Helping Hands Food Pantry in Wyalusing, Pa.,
a community-outreach food pantry supported entirely by donations.
