Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc. and Rally’s Drive-In Restaurants,
Inc. relating to malware installed on point-of-sale systems at certain
Checkers and Rally’s locations which appears to enable the unauthorized
party to obtain the payment card data of some customers. The malware was
designed to collect information stored on the magnetic stripe of
payments cards, including cardholder name, payment card number, card
verification code and expiration date. On May 29, 2019, Checkers and
Rally’s issued a press release announcing the data breach.
