KANSAS CITY, Mo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Dentons, the leading global law firm, today announces the appointment of
Lisa Krigsten as managing partner of its Kansas City office. A former
federal prosecutor, Krigsten advises and represents US and foreign
multinational companies, their senior management, and boards of
directors in investigations and related complex criminal and civil
litigation.
Krigsten succeeds John Snyder, who has served as the Firm’s Kansas City
managing partner for nearly ten years. Snyder, a leading real estate
lawyer who represents real estate developers and investors and lending
institutions, will continue his practice and also assume new
responsibilities advancing Dentons’ market-leading US real estate team.
“Lisa is an exceptional lawyer and strong leader whose creativity and
vision will be a tremendous asset to our strategy in the Kansas City
market,” said US CEO Mike McNamara. “Kansas City is one of our top
offices in the US region, including work for global clients, and the
exceptional lawyers here are working on some of the most complex and
exciting projects. My appreciation to John for his outstanding work as
Kansas City managing partner, and under Lisa’s leadership I have every
confidence the office will continue to flourish.”
Joining Dentons as part of a prominent white collar litigation and
investigations team in 2013, Krigsten is often retained for
bet-the-company cases throughout the US. Krigsten was recently selected
as one of Missouri Lawyer’s Weekly’s Most Influential Lawyers in
2018.
Krigsten is particularly valued for her strategic abilities in managing
crises, and earned a reputation as a go-to attorney for corporate
leaders when an issue threatens to disrupt operations or impact the
organization’s brand or bottom line. She represents clients before
federal agencies, including the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and the
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Her clients include Fortune
100 companies, private equity-owned companies and financial services
institutions.
“I’m so pleased to lead an exceptional office of talented, accomplished
lawyers,” said Krigsten. “I look forward to deepening our client
relationships here in Kansas City while continuing to serve our clients
around the world.”
Prior to entering private practice, Krigsten was appointed by President
George W. Bush to serve as a Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General
within the DOJ, where she worked among the highest levels of DOJ
leadership in guiding the national enforcement of federal law. She also
coordinated the DOJ’s responses to congressional inquiries and assisted
in the drafting of key regulations and laws passed by Congress.
Previously a federal prosecutor with the DOJ in Washington, DC, Krigsten
received numerous commendations and awards for the investigation and
prosecution of high-profile criminal cases across the country.
Krigsten was named to Ingram’s Magazine’s 2018 Class of WeKC
(Women Executives-Kansas City). She also is a graduate of the Kansas
City Tomorrow leadership program and serves on the alumni association’s
board of directors.
Krigsten regularly speaks on issues related to investigations and crisis
management, and teaches an annual trial advocacy course at the
University of Iowa College of Law, her law school alma mater. Active in
civic organizations as well, she serves on boards of directors of
DeLaSalle Education Center a Kansas City charter school, and Youth
Ambassadors. She is a past board president of Impact KC, and earned her
BA from the University of Kansas.
