Proceeds Support Scholarship Program for High School Students

NEWARK, Del.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–lt;a href=”https://twitter.com/hashtag/SallieMae?src=hash” target=”_blank”gt;#SallieMaelt;/agt;–The third annual Sallie Mae 5K run/walk to raise money in support of the Bridging
the Dream Scholarship Program will be held at Bellevue State Park on
Sunday, June 2 at 9 a.m. The event, which is open to the public, is a
family-friendly, run/walk for all ages. Participants can register at www.SallieMae5K.com.
Sallie Mae’s Bridging the Dream Scholarship Program asks high school
counselors from across the country to nominate students who have
overcome obstacles and exemplify excellence both inside and outside the
classroom.
In the past three years, Sallie Mae has awarded $560,000 in scholarships
to undergraduate and graduate students through the program. Last year,
St. Elizabeth senior Ardavia Lee of New Castle was Delaware’s recipient
of the scholarship.
Counselors and community organization leaders can nominate students
