Company also Recognized as a Top 15 Company for Philanthropy
PHILADELPHIA–(BUSINESS WIRE)–lt;a href=”https://twitter.com/search?q=%24ARMK&src=ctag” target=”_blank”gt;$ARMKlt;/agt; lt;a href=”https://twitter.com/hashtag/DiversityandInclusion?src=hash” target=”_blank”gt;#DiversityandInclusionlt;/agt;–Aramark (NYSE: ARMK), a global leader in food, facilities management and
uniforms, has once again been named a DiversityInc Top 50 Company for
Diversity. The company was also recognized as a Top 15 Company
for Philanthropy.
The DiversityInc Top 50 list, issued yearly since 2001, recognizes the
nation’s top companies for diversity and inclusion management. These
companies excel in such areas as hiring, retaining and promoting women,
minorities, people with disabilities, LGBT and veterans.
“We are honored to be recognized by DiversityInc for our commitments to
diversity and philanthropy,” said Eric Foss, Chairman, President & CEO,
Aramark. “Fostering an equal and inclusive workplace culture, centered
around a shared purpose, is vital to meeting the needs of our team
members, customers and communities, while also delivering on our mission
to enrich and nourish lives.”
DiversityInc’s extensive annual survey yields an empirically driven
ranking based on talent results in the workforce and management, senior
leadership accountability, talent programs, workplace practices,
philanthropy and supplier diversity. This year’s competition was
improved by adding questions that connect talent programs and workplace
practices to desired talent results. The Top 50 analysis also addressed
the intersectionality of race by analyzing women and men representation
of each race/ethnicity separately, rather than combined.
“We revamped our algorithms and now have a reliability quotient of .92,”
notes Luke Visconti, founder and CEO of DiversityInc. “DiversityInc Top
50 Companies have a decisive advantage because they treat people more
fairly than other companies. Everybody, including white men, are far
better off working for them because there is more opportunity at better
run companies. Top 50 companies also deliver a greater-than-average
return for shareholders.”
Aramark’s diversity and inclusion efforts have been well recognized,
including being named a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality
with a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate
Equality Index; a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion
by the Disability Equality Index with a 100% top-score; a Top 40
Best Company for Diversity by Black Enterprise magazine and a Top
50 Employer for Equal Opportunity. In addition, Eric Foss,
Aramark’s Chairman, President & CEO, is a Catalyst CEO
Champion for Change, joining 50+ global business leaders who
have pledged to help accelerate more women — including women of color
— into senior leadership positions.
Through its global volunteer and philanthropic program, Aramark
Building Community, the company focuses on inspiring families to
lead healthier lifestyles and empowering youth and adults to succeed at
work through education and skills development. Aramark also supports
national and local partnerships, and contributes to nonprofit
organizations through its Charitable Fund — investing financial
resources, volunteering the skills of employees, and developing
community partnerships to make a meaningful difference.
