Mississauga will be home to one of Canada’s most significant urban
waterfront transformations
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Lakeview Village, an exciting complete community coming to Mississauga’s
waterfront, was awarded Best New Community (Planned/Under Development)
at the 39th annual BILD Awards.
The winning team includes Lakeview Community Partners, a partnership
between Argo Development Corporation, Branthaven Homes, CCI Development
Group, Greenpark Homes, and TACC Construction, in collaboration with
Gerrard Design, Glen Schnarr & Associates, NAK Design Group and DECO
Communities. The BILD awards, presented by the Building
Industry and Land Development Association, recognize the remarkable
talent and achievements of the Greater Toronto Area’s developers, new
home builders, architects, designers, as well as sales and marketing
professionals across the region.

The project will be developed on the site of the decommissioned Lakeview
coal-fired power plant, creating a model in sustainable mixed-use
development. The 177-acre project will include thousands of residential
units, more than 100,000 square feet of prime retail space, up to
825,000 square feet of employment space, and create as many as 4,500
long-term jobs, while providing Mississauga residents and visitors
access to this portion of the Lake Ontario waterfront for the first time
in decades.
When complete, Lakeview Village will feature a continuous waterfront
through the development of several kilometers of waterfront trail,
connecting existing parks east and west of the community. The project
will incorporate diverse housing, along with dedicated cycling routes,
pedestrian pathways and connections to transit. A dynamic multicultural
and recreational hub, the development will combine indoor and outdoor
venues and year-round programming with unique open space and streetscape
elements to create a central gathering place for the community. Lakeview
Village will be a highly livable neighbourhood where residents can enjoy
amenities steps from home – in what will be an all-season waterfront
destination that rivals the world’s most acclaimed developments.
