South America are coming together in Sao Paulo to present their novel
research and technologies in the companion animal and livestock sectors.
The first of fifteen universities showcasing their research were
announced this week, including:

- UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais) Innovation Hub
- UNICAMP (University of Campinas) Innovation agency (“INOVA”)
- USP (University of Sao Paulo) Innovation Hub (“AUSPIN”)
- INTA (Instituto Nacional de Tecnologia Agropecuaria)
- INNBIO – Plataforma de innovación biotecnológica en Concepción
The event, Animal Health Innovation Latam, aims to showcase innovations
in the animal health and nutrition sectors and generate partnerships
between investors, global pharma companies such as Elanco, Zoetis
and MSD Animal Heath and entrepreneurial start-ups and
researchers, to accelerate innovation in the region.

Representatives from Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) will also
be in attendance, taking questions on regulation standards in Brazil as
well as regulatory harmonisation across Latin America. The session host, Elcio
Inhe, President of SINDAN, will be joined by special guest speakers: Jose
Guilherme Tollstadius Leal, Secretary of Defence for Agriculture and
Livestock (SDA), Jose Ricardo Lobo, Coordinator of Veterinary
Medicines, and Luna Lisboa Alves, Coordinator at MAPA.
Opening this year’s conference is an interactive discussion hosted by
Elanco, their customers and partners, as they discuss their vision of
the future in animal health in Latin America, and the adoption of
innovative new technology in livestock.
Animal Health Innovation Latam will take place August 6-7, 2019 at in
Sao Paulo, Brazil.
