TymeMachine, a non-profit organisation working to make children aware of the latest technology and provides technological training to the children, will be hosting its first Community Coding Competition for students between the ages of 8 and 18 on 30 March 2019. Ladue Education Foundation & Alumni Association will sponsor the event.
Codefest 2019 will begin at 9:00 AM to Noon at Location TBD.
Students can develop projects based on the St. Louis Community under three different categories: Games, Digital Story and Art & Animation.
Students can join at two entry levels Junior (8–12) and Senior (13–18). They can use either Scratch or Python to create the project and participate in an on-the-spot coding challenge.
The following are the categories available:
Games
Use Scratch or Python to create a playable game.
Ideas!
Make a scratch quiz game about your community asking hard questions.
Create a text-based adventure game that takes players on an adventure around your town or school.
Digital Story
Create a story about your community using Scratch, Python.
Ideas!
Create a story with the locality being your school or playground.
Create a story with information about food, animals and things to be found in your local area.
Art and Animations
Create a piece of digital art or animation using Scratch or Python.
Ideas!
Use Scratch to draw a piece of art representing your Community.
Registration for the event will begin on January 31, 2019. The last date of entry submission is 15 March 2019.
