Netwrix releases list of 2019’s top seven IT security trends

Netwrix, which specialises in creating a visibility platform for data security and risk mitigation, has compiled a list of top seven IT security trends that will affect the threat landscape and influence how organisations should tackle cyber security in 2019.

Here are the key details:

Broader and stricter compliance: Protection of personal data will keep on getting more focus in 2019. There will be a surge in the number of data security and privacy laws in the USA.

Data-centric security: Organisations will have to focus on more data-centric means of security. This will drive an increased need for data discovery solutions. Ongoing data discovery will be a must in 2019.

More cloud adoption: A increasing number of companies would jump into cloud platforms. Organisations should consider machine learning technologies, along with hiring SecDevOps teams, when developing in-house software in the cloud.

AI and blockchain to the fore. Companies will continue to look for ways to automate IT security processes, driving demand for solutions that incorporate advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning technologies. Also,  the potential for applying blockchain technologies for data security will be realised more and more. It will not be widely adopted in 2019, but market penetration will steadily rise.
