Students of School of Rock, a premier centre of performance-based music education, is joining hands with Dweezil Zappa, son of legendary composer and guitarist, Frank Zappa. Some of the top students from School of Rock will participate with Dweezil on stage during his “Choice Cuts 2018” world tour in cities such as Los Angeles, Seattle and San Francisco.
Select students from School of Rock’s 220 schools get a chance to get this valuable experience. The students receive guitar lessons, singing lessons and piano lessons. The students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and, of course, Frank Zappa.
“Our revolutionary teaching approach gives School of Rock students the chance to grow as musicians by performing live,” says Rob Price, CEO of School of Rock. “Sharing the stage with legends such as Dweezil Zappa provides a transformational creative and personal experience.”
Dweezil Zappa learned his music lessons watching his father, Frank Zappa.
“I enjoy being able to provide young musicians with inspirational opportunities,” says Dweezil Zappa. “Music is far more interesting if the next generation of musicians first becomes aware of the diversity and creativity that appears to be missing in modern popular music. Learning about music history is essential in helping them find their own perspective and focus on the skills they need to innovate and propel their own music forward.”
