ATN Sports Channels to air LIVE all 23 matches of first edition of T20 cricket league
Asian Television Network International Limited (ATN) (TSX-V-SAT), Canada’s largest South Asian Broadcaster, is pleased to announce that it has acquired the exclusive Canadian Broadcast rights for the first ever Afghanistan premiere League 2018 (APL 2018).
ATN will air live all 23 matches of the inaugural edition of APL 2018 on its Commonwealth Broadcasting Network (CBN) channel and ATN Cricket Plus across Canada.
A long-time broadcaster of international cricket, ATN most recently was the exclusive Canadian rights holder for ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and ICC WorldTwenty20 (2016) and was the first to bring the World Cup of Cricket live via satellite to Canada in 1986. ATN’s 54 channels include programming that spans 10 languages and a variety of genres, including news, sports and entertainment.

APL 2018 will run from October 5th to October 21st, 2018 and will feature top Cricketers from around the World including Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Shahid Afridi, Rashid Khan, Luke Ronchi, Brendon McCullum, Tamim Iqbal, Wayne Parnel, Thisara Perera and Ravi Bopara.
Five franchise teams will vie for the championship – Balkh Legends, Kabul Zwanan, Kandahar Knights, Paktia Panthers and Nangarhar leopards. The league will take place in Sharjah, UAE and the strategic objective is to bring this league into the top three T20 leagues in the world.
