Administrative and support staff at CBU to vote on tentative agreement

SYDNEY, Nova Scotia–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Administrative and support staff at Cape Breton University (CBU) achieved a tentative agreement on September 7 after one day of conciliation. The approximately 90 employees, members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 3131, work in a variety of roles at the university, including in the finance department, admissions and registration, student affairs, library services, IT, and academic support.

The previous agreement expired on March 31, 2023.

“The bargaining committee worked very hard to achieve this deal and I am very proud of them,” said CUPE Local 3131 President Allana Serroul.

Details of the contract will not be made available until it has been presented to CUPE 3131 members and a ratification vote takes place. The members will be asked to vote on the tentative agreement later next week.
